In this session, I will incorporate multiple therapeutic modalities including Myofascial Release, Trigger Point Therapy, and Muscle Energy Techniques to relieve tension and pain with the aim of treating acute injuries and/or relieving chronic pain due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. Each session is tailored to the clients specific requests and needs. Open communication during the session is crucial to make sure you are comfortable, that the amount of pressure is just right, and that the treatment is effective.
Guiding you into a series of yoga postures and facilitated stretches, giving compression on the energy lines of the body and working acupressure points, Thai Massage is full body, deeply satisfying experience that releases stress, relieves pain, energizes, and enlivens you. Aromatic, warm herbal compresses are used for added relaxation. No oil is applied, and you are fully dressed during the session, working on a mat on the floor. 90 or 120 minutes is recommended for the best experience with this treatment.
Abhyanga literally means "Oil Massage", but is also translated as "touched by loving hands". A generous amount of warm oil is applied for a nourishing experience which calms the nerves, balances hormones, reduces joint and muscle aches, aids sleep, enhances the complexion and the luster of the skin, eliminates impurities, increases circulation and nourishes the 7 layers of tissues in the body. 60 minutes is recommended for this session.

Pregnancy is a time when a woman's body endures tremendous stress due to dramatic physical and emotional changes. Using various techniques specially developed for an expecting mother, Prenatal Massage helps relieve pain and discomfort experienced throughout pregnancy, as well as induce a deep state of relaxation which is beneficial to both Mother and Baby. Studies show that the stress hormones in a mother’s system are transferred through the placenta to the baby. Baby’s born to Mother’s who are stressed or depressed show identical levels of stress hormones and indicators of depression. This is one reason why it is so important to Mother the Mother before and after the birth, and why massage during pregnancy and during the postpartum time can be so beneficial! Other benefits include relief of joint pain due to extra weight and postural imbalance, improved breathing and relaxation for childbirth, and emotional support for the expecting Mother.

Ayurvedic massage after childbirth can greatly reduce or eliminate difficulties with lactation, colic, depression, weight, energy, hormones and more. Warm oil applied helps the mother to feel more whole, relaxed, strong, balanced and vital. More than just pampering, a woman should ideally receive or self apply warm oil daily for the first 42 days after childbirth to support purification and rejuvenation from pregnancy, birth, and all of the new responsibilities that come with a baby.
HOME VISITS RECOMMENDED FOR WOMEN UP TO 6 WEEKS POSTPARTUM. To honor the "Sacred Window", the sensitive healing and integration period for the Mother the first 6 weeks after birth, I prefer come to your house. You don't have to leave the comfort of your home, and can keep baby close by if she/he needs you. For maximum benefit, it is best to take a warm bath, followed by a nap after the massage. There is an additional $50 charge for home visits.
And because women need extra support after birth, I am available to cook nourishing meals, assist with housework, and care for other children for up to 3 additional hours for a rate of $25-50/hr (sliding scale), if I am already coming to your house to provide massage. In this class you will learn simple massage techniques that promote the healthy development of your baby, and promote parent infant bonding. Caring human touch is crucial for a healthy, thriving baby, and the benefits of massaging your infant are numerous. For example, many infants show improved growth and development of the brain and nervous system, as well as improved physical development. Infant massage has also been shown to relieve colic, improve the quality of a baby's sleep, and strengthening their immune system. A Postpartum Doula provides gentle evidence-based education on breastfeeding, sleep, and infant care for up to the first 12 weeks postpartum. Her role is to nurture the new Mom's mothering skills, provide nourishing food and drink, and assist with household chores, provide non-medicalized support and companionship, help with sibling adjustment, support the father or co-parent, and assist with household organization. Any help in those sensitive first 6 weeks with laundry, cleaning, cooking, fielding phone calls and visitors, or just holding the baby so Mama can take a shower or a nap is incredibly beneficial and healing. With adequate help, new parents can focus on recuperating from the birth and adjusting to life with a newborn. These practices of Mothering the Mother have been shown to significantly decrease difficulties with lactation, colic, depression, anxiety, weight loss, energy, and hormone regulation.

Learn some helpful tips on setting the mood, reading your partners signals, establishing clear communication, and simple things you can do that will go a long way!
